Lacy Greear-Crain was born in Macon GA and raised in Upson County. She attended R. E. Lee High School, and Southern Crescent (Flint River Tech) while living in Upson. She graduated from Southern Crescent with an Associates in Accounting in 1996. Lacy, and her daughter Kristance Kobilis, moved to Nashville TN in July of 1996. In Nashville Lacy worked as the Sr. Project Analyst for Post, Buckley, Schuh and Jernigan Engineering (PBS&J) and sang with her band on the weekends. In 2002 Lacy transferred to Atlanta with PBS&J. While in Atlanta she later worked as an Accounting Specialist for Accu-Tech Inc, and Americold Logistics. After meeting her current husband, she and her family moved back to Thomaston in 2015. Lacy was the General Manager for AAdvantage Relocation (Lakeside Plant) from 2016 until 2021 when she joined Upson County Board of Commissioners as the Senior Accountant.
Lacy also obtained an associate degree in Psychology while working with homeless teens in Atlanta and served as the Director of Feed and Clothe the Homeless (a non-profit organization). Since working for Upson County, she has obtained her Certificate in Governmental Accounting and is now a Certified Governmental Finance Officer (CGFO). She obtained this certification through the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute. She is currently working towards a full masters degree- in gaining credits to obtain her CPA certification.
Lacy is also a singer/songwriter/musician, and creative writer who has released several songs on all major music platforms. She also published a book of her poems in 2005.
Lacy has one daughter, two stepchildren, and 2 grandchildren. Lacy is married to Michael Crain (from Atlanta).
